Black Eats LDN was created by Jackson Mclarty in response to a clear lack of spotlight on Black-owned restaurants in mainstream media. The goal of Black Eats LDN is to inspire sustainable support for Black food and hospitality businesses and boost the UK’s Black food scene.

Since its inception in 2020, Mclarty has transformed the hospitality industry, generating over £5 million for Black-owned food vendors and retail businesses in 5 years, drawing more than 260,000 attendees to his festivals. He pioneered the first Black-owned food directory, then organised Black-owned markets in Hackney, which has now evolved into the thriving Black Eats Fest in Woolwich – a hub for community, culture, and culinary excellence.

For many of us, food is a social activity, a hobby, and a direct link to the cultures of the world. Through helpful resources and exciting events, Black Eats LDN has made it easier for all types of foodies to connect with businesses and experience the incredible culinary cultures in our communities. Black Eats is a space for Black-owned businesses to feel seen, supported, and empowered as we bring our food to the mainstream.
