Aloo pie with curry channa is essentially a potato pie with curried chickpeas. It’s all the things you’d want in a snack – crunchy, spicy, zingy, sweet, savoury and most of all moreish. It totally hits the spot!

FOR THE CURRY CHANNA:
White Onion
Garlic Cloves
Fresh Coriander
Vegetable Oil
Scotch Bonnet
Curry Powder
Ground Turmeric
Water
Drained Cooked Chickpeas
Salt
TO SERVE:
Cucumber
Pepper Sauce
Tamarind Sauce

This is delicious, but needs to come with a spice warning. The combination of flavours works really well and the effort required is well rewarded. One tip- saw leaf in the recipe refers to (vietnamese) coriander in the ingredients list. The Chana definitely needs salt to bring out the flavours. If you don't like spice then use something other than a scotch bonnet- or leave out the chilli altogether.
