Just lovely - and perfect pop in the oven and forget about meal for special occasions and/or feeding the masses. This is the not at all artistic remainder of the Sainsbury's Christmas half-price leg of lamb special. I used cheapo Lidl tinned butter beans and put them in with a couple of hours to go to plump up, and they came out very well. Will definitely make again. No knife required for carving either: we scooped it off the bone with the serving spoon. Leftovers will be stirred through couscous and life-giving new year greens.

Hello, on the app it says to use 15 of dried oregano, which I presume is a mistake! But it's hard for me to find fresh, would dried be ok? Maybe a tsp or so?

Hi Steve, thanks for the feedback! We recommend using fresh oregano for best results but if you can't find it, you could use a couple tsp of dried oregano instead.

Hi Adrien, you could just pop the beans back into the oven instead, until golden and bubbling. It might effect the texture but will still be delicious!

Just checking, is it the lemon zest that goes into the bean mixture and the juice of that lemon into the salsa?? Methods say to us lemon in the salsa but the ingredients list is missing a lemon.

Thanks Michelle! Yep the lemon juice goes into the salsa (step 3) and the lemon zest goes into the beans with the crème frâiche (step 10). We've tweaked the method to make this clear!
