Meet James and Jules from Utter Waffle. They make gourmet, freshly cooked, gluten-free waffles. They’re driven by one vision: to make waffles posh and a little bit more interesting. The idea came after travelling to South America, where the couple noticed the massive savoury crepe culture. They absolutely loved it, and were desperate to bring something similar back to the UK.
Utter Waffle has won three British Street Food Awards for its tasty and unexpected fillings. One of the bestsellers is ‘Wanna Pizza Me’ (spoiler alert: you do). It’s a waffle batter base with pepperoni, chorizo, mozzarella and a tomato passata. It’s topped with a final layer of batter and fried until crispy. If that’s not enough, customers can then enjoy it with a squeeze of balsamic glaze, basil mayo or irresistible spicy honey. Unreal.
