We caught up with Darren Simpson, the founder of Nanny Bill’s. They specialise in double patty smashed beef burgers. Created off the back of a serious love for burgers, Darren is now a burger connoisseur and can be relied upon to create the best burger in town.
Nanny Bills is named after Darren’s nan who ran caffs in London in the 70s and 80s. Darren opened up his vintage food truck in 2015 to feed the hungry East Londoners. Their mac & cheese croquettes, hand pressed patties and gravy soaked burger quickly took the burger scene by storm. ’The Jam’ burger was nominated as a National Burger Award Finalist.
In this episode of Street MOB, Darren rustles up his most popular burger. The famous Dalston Dip - a double smashed patty, burger seasoning, mustard glaze, American cheese, caramelised onions, toasted bun, and a secret burger sauce. To top off this whopper, the burger is served with Nanny Bill’s gravy which it can either be dipped into or smothered all over with.
Over time, Nanny Bill have found themselves in some of the most exciting locations and working events with the biggest brands. You can find them permanently located in Wembley Boxpark, Vinegar Yard and the Abbey Tavern. They have absolutely double patty smashed it.
