We’re hosting a day festival with Gorillas on the 17th of September. There’s going to be loads of live music, food, and drink. You should be there.

That’s right, Mob. We’re doing a day festival. This event – which takes place on the 17th of September from 3pm till midnight – is going to be a joint effort with the good people at Gorillas. We’ll be taking over London’s iconic Oval Space for an entire day of banging food, incredible music, and heaps of other food-orientated activities.

Featuring food from some of London’s best street food traders, including dishes from our new book Fresh Mob that we’ll be serving out of the Mob Truck and a wide range of drinks, this is set to be the biggest and best event we’ve ever done. Expect awesome music from a Balamii-curated line-up that features Lynda Dawn and a host of other DJs and artists until late. The Official Mob Podcast will also be live on stage alongside a set of immersive supper clubs from dynamic comedy duo Mam Sham and the rest of our amazing food team. It’s going to be good.

What’s On?

Music

Radio station Balamii has helped us put together a lineup of some of the most exciting up-and-coming talent in the music industry. Acts include:

  • Lynda Dawn – a vocalist, producer and songwriter from London. Exploring the sonic spectrum between soul, funk and jazz she draws upon her musically inclined upbringing to deliver a distinctive style of storytelling.

Food

  • Mob Truck – The Mob Truck is going to be churning out samples of our favourite recipes from our new book Fresh Mob, with our good pals at Good Earth providing a load of free drinks to go with them. This will be one of the first opportunities to get your hands on the book, as well as a load of wicked Fresh Mob merch.

  • Only Jerkin’ – Celebrating the spirit of the Caribbean through lip-smacking flavours, Only Jerkin’ s a street food vendor that's putting a fresh twist on dishes with traditional jerk flavours.

  • Toum & Tahini – Specialising in Middle Eastern comfort food and heaping plates of fatteh, Toum & Tahini is one of the most exciting street food vendors to watch right now. Expect big flavours from these lot.

  • Temaki Bros –A contemporary Japanese kiosk specialising in handrolls. Made using the freshest ingredients available, these handrolls are extremely addictive and the perfect fuel for dancing the day away.

Events

  • Fresh Mob Supper Club – To celebrate the launch of Fresh Mob, we’re putting on an exclusive supper club for 60 people within Mob Live. Starting at 12.30pm before the main show begins, you’ll be able to enjoy the very best recipes from Fresh Mob cooked for you by the Mob food team as part of a three-course menu. Tickets are only £35 and include a general access ticket to Mob Live.

  • Mam Sham Supper Club – Maria and Rhiannon are the women behind Mam Sham and this iconic immersive supper club is set to be special. With a capacity of 80 people, attendees will enjoy a three-course menu with each course inspiring a comedy set from three different comedians. The food will be headed up by a special surprise guest with Mam Sham hosting an evening of silliness and fun, It’s set to be a lively one, and one guaranteed to be an absolute riot. At £40 a ticket (as an add-on to your general access pass) you’re getting a lot of bang for your buck.

  • The Official Mob Podcast Live – We’re bringing a live version of The Official Mob Podcast to the Mob Live stage. Expect a one-of-a-kind immersive experience, and plenty of laughs, with the opportunity to find yourself on stage with our very own Sophie Wyburd and Michael Sladden.

  • Gorillas Photobooth – Our friends at Gorillas are bringing down an epic 360° photo booth for you to capture the ultimate Mob Live photo with your plate of food, your drink of choice, and – of course – your best pals.

  • Much More Silliness – Sounds mysterious? That’s because it is. We’re keeping a few surprises up our sleeves about the rest of the offering but think cooking demos, food eating competitions, and much, much more.
