Brothy Caramelised Onion Chicken with Rice
Inspired by Senegalese chicken yassa – we've made it into a brothy caramelised onion soup base, reminiscent of French onion soup with a zingy kick you find in yassa. It’s the perfect weeknight meal to make.

Lovely! I switched rice for orzo and cooked it in the broth. Also added butter 🤌🏼

Seriously easy and delicious meal! Not quite sure it takes as little as 15mins though, think that needs to be updated to approx 30mins.

Second time I’ve made it I let the broth boil for longer so it became less watery and it was perfect!

I made this and it was far too brothy, more like a rice soup. Maybe boil it down a little longer!

Loved this - the scotch bonnet has this magical delayed heat. Def making it again (pardon the amateurish plating!)
