Welcome to Healthy Mob. It isn’t a new page, a new brand, or a new channel. It’s just a new direction. And it is going to become a central pillar of the recipes and content we make for you.

Over the past seven years, there’s been one overwhelming piece of feedback on our recipes (other than too much orzo, ’nduja, and gnocchi). Our bread and butter is comforting, weekend-y type of food. Food for when you have friends and family over. Recipes for when you have a bit more time to cook.

But time and time again, you’ve asked us to start making more healthy, midweek meals. Dishes that you can eat day in, day out. Meals that are healthy, nourishing… all the good stuff. Our mission at Mob is to instil a love of cooking in everyone. And we recognise that in order to do that, we need to provide more options for recipes to cook through the week – and that is exactly what we are going to do.

On top of that, you’ll be able to find sharply curated collections of all the healthy meals we have made in the past (there’s our Best Healthy Recipes, Quick & Healthy Recipes, and Healthy Vegetarian Recipes, to name a few) as well as plenty of healthy meal plans (like our High Protein One, Healthy Vegetarian Weeknight One, and High Protein One) made by our team of chefs.

At the outset of this new direction, we want to establish exactly what we mean by “healthy”.

Life is all about balance. And nothing beats the satisfaction of eating something that’s super-tasty which just also happens to be good for you. As a team, that’s the sort of food we cook on a day-to-day basis. Because as much as we do love a carbonara, having it every day of the week would probably be overkill.

Healthy food is as much about making a quick meal after a hectic day at work that warms you up from the inside as it is about eating a dish that transports you to your summer holidays or gives you a diverse gut microbiome. It’s vibrant, it’s colourful, and it’s the food that you crave after a big weekend.

Healthy Mob is delicious, nutritious recipes that are designed to make you feel good.

In our healthy recipes, we have still included all the things we know you love, but we’ve come up with clever ways of including all of our favourite ingredients in smaller quantities that don’t mean sacrificing on flavour or enjoyment. Think using an ’nduja and garlic spiced butter to deliver a burst of flavour in a small package, or making less feta go further by lightening it with lemony Greek yoghurt.

As always, our recipes are built to satisfy. You may notice that in our healthy recipes we have used fewer carbs than in the staple Mob comfort dishes, but that’s not because we’re suddenly looking to give you meagre portion sizes, or because we think carbs are ‘bad’. We’ve just bulked out the recipes with heaps of veggies and lean protein in order to achieve a balanced plate that’ll fill you up.
