Temperatures are soaring, beer gardens are buzzing and everyone (and I mean, everyone) is barbecuing. Rooftops, gardens, courtyards and even suitably-sized balconies are getting a taste for the grill this summer, and we’ve got a strong reason to believe that this behaviour isn’t going anywhere. It’s only August, Mob.

So, what do you reckon we’ve done with that intel? We’ve only gone and partnered up with masters of cooking — Ninja — to create a series of heavenly recipes, all made using their very, very special (and brand-new) outdoor cooking tool: the Ninja Woodfire Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker.

Your head’s likely spinning by now. You’re probably thinking we’re about to hit you with a cascade of burger recipes, or “ultimate hot dog toppings.” But no. Instead, we’ve come up with five premium, insanely-delicious recipes that make use out of the electric barbie’s different features. That’s the ability to air fry, smoke, grill, roast and more. Because we’re innovative like that. Now, let’s dig right in.

A steak salad is nothing new. Chefs have been making them for as long as we can remember. They’re often top spot on lunch menus, and are usually a go-to when people don’t fancy the whole steak, egg and chips combo. They’re also a great way of using up any steak you’ve made the day before, without having to go wild with a crazy list of new ingredients. Which brings me beautifully onto our first recipe, Charred Bavette with Smoked Tomato Salad. As good as it sounds, this meaty number takes advantage of an underrated cut of steak by charring it and teaming it with a gorgeously smoky tomato salad embellished with red chillies, sherry vinegar and honey. Stun.

Elsewhere in the meat department, we’ve also got a Curry Butter BBQ Chicken. Picture a delicious homemade curry butter slathered onto spatchcocked chicken and cooked on the barbecue for the smokiest, juiciest results. Count. Us. In.

Come get-together, we’ve got this Nectarine & Burrata Salad with Charred Lemon Dressing perfect for a chilled evening with your pals. We’ve combined creamy burrata and smoky sweet nectarine with fresh, tangy lemon dressing. Side-by-side with this, there’s our Smoky Aubergine & Tomato Dip inspired by the two absolute classics that are Baba Ganoush and Persian Mirza Ghasemi. This one’s a breeze to make, and perfect for adding another dimension of flavour to your favourite summertime spreads.

And as for our bonus recipe, we’ve got Prawn Tacos with Mango Coriander Salsa. And oof, they’re delicious. What we’ve done here is take some inspo from Birra Tacos (fall-apart beef short rib pieces paired with broth-infused tortillas), and recreated it with prawns. We’re talking smoky prawns teamed with a sweet mango salsa, and dipped in the most flavourful sauce. It’s addictive.

So, there you have it. Consider this your sign to park up the double-stacked, pickle-loaded beef burgers this summer, and give something new, something a tad more sophisticated, a go. And maybe treat yourself to a Ninja Woodfire Electric BBQ Grill & Smoker while you’re at it.
