Natural wines are interesting, fun, and undeniably cool. From the English Natural Wine Producers doing mad things with biodynamic farming to the Best Natural Wine Subscription Boxes and snazzy labels, there’s a lot to love about the organic wine scene. Price, though, can be a sticky situation. You obviously want to make sure you’re drinking something that’s objectively good – and something that's been sustainably farmed and free from the addition of any chemical nasties – but you also don’t want to be spending £20 on a bottle you’re not convinced that you're actually going to enjoy. And you definitely don't want to spend £20 on a bottle that tastes like drinking vinegar.
Not everyone has the same palate and something that I find to be fresh, bright and invigorating might taste more like cat piss that's been filtered through a used sieve to you. That's life. And the only way to truly find out what you like, and what you don't like, is by trying as many different things as possible.
That's something that's especially true when it comes to wine and, contrary to popular belief, good wine doesn’t always have to be expensive. Even natural wine can actually be fairly affordable if you know where to look and which producers to keep an eye out for. Most of these natty wines are super easygoing, less than a tenner, and a great entry point for the sceptics out there. These are the best natural wines you can get for £10 and less.
