From Eric Tries It to Carolina Gelen, these are all the tastiest food accounts on Instagram you should be following. Along with us, of course.
Best Instagram Food Accounts
Just one of the many cracking food shots from Ben Lippett's Instagram. Photography: @dinnerbyben.

You spend too much time on Instagram. I spend too much time on Instagram. Everyone who has the Instagram app downloaded onto their smartphone likely spends too much time on Instagram. Whether you’re a reels binge watcher at the weekends or a sucker for a ‘Close Friends’ story, each of us uses Instagram in our own individual way. Personally, I use Instagram as a means of following talented food producers, writers, and eaters and find that it’s an excellent way to keep track of food trends and stay up to date with the latest culinary trends. Well, I use it for that and dank memes.

I’ve already done a round-up of some of the best TikTok food accounts and the best YouTube food channels you need to follow so I thought I’d do the same for Instagram. Because God knows I need to find some excuse for scrolling through my feed during work hours.

Following all of our Mob food producers Ben, Jodie, Chloe, Els, Ro is a no-brainer. They’re always posting great behind-the-scenes content on their stories and plenty of non-Mob recipes that they make in their own time. And I’m not just saying that because they’re all my mates in real life, too. Aside from that lovely lot, this is a list of the best Instagram food accounts there. The Instagram food accounts that are capable of helping you become a better cook yourself and, failing that, capable of making you really, really hungry.

Carolina Gelen

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

From knafeh mozzarella sticks to a classic tomato carpaccio, the recipes that Carolina Gelen (@carolinagelen) shares on her Instagram never fail to capture my attention. As a recipe developer for Food52, Carolina has created an impressive brand for herself that’s built off of her simple and refreshing approach to cooking. Carolina’s content always hits the spot and her frank candour makes it feel like you’re watching the videos of a really close, yet super talented, friend. Even though you’re actually, like, complete strangers and she has no idea who you are.

Tina Choi

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Tina (aka @doobydobap) is a recipe developer, food scientist, and content creator who just gets it. I’m not even really sure what “it” is, but I know that Tina gets a lot of it. Her recipe videos are all beautifully shot, laden with ASMR, and genuinely easy-to-follow. In comparison to a lot of the food videos you’ll find on Instagram, Tina’s content is both informative and entertaining. Which, trust me, is no easy feat.

Crispy Egg 420

Ran by food writer Bettina Makalintal, Crispy Egg 420 (@crispyegg420) is a food account with a seriously strong aesthetic. “No recipes just vibes” is the name of the game and whether it’s a bowl of broiled mackerel over fluffy rice or crispy potatoes and eggs, you can expect whatever Bettina’s cooked for lunch to look immaculate. You’ll be getting major envy from Bettina’s photography skills.

Lucas Oakeley

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

I couldn't write a list of the best Instagram food accounts and not include myself, could I? If you really want to stroke my ego – as well as see some serviceable photos of delicious food – then you should follow me (@lucasoakeley) on Instagram. Cheers. And sorry again about the shameless plug.

Liam Barker

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

As an ex-fine dining chef, Liam Barker (aka @chef.liam) has had a wealth of experience working at some pretty swanky restaurants. Rather than keeping that knowledge to himself, Liam has used Instagram as a means of disseminating cooking tips and tricks to the general public, presenting well-crafted recipes and advice on how to make the best out of seasonal ingredients. Whether you’re looking to make a fermented habanero hot sauce or a silky hummus, chef Liam is worth a follow.

Isaac Rangaswami

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Caffs Not Cafes (@caffs_not_cafes) is one of the most nutritious Instagram food accounts around. Created by Isaac Rangaswami, this account is a celebration of the UK’s caff culture – a loving ode to the greasy spoons and chippies that have served happy punters everything from pie and mash to massaman curry for a myriad of years. Not only does Caffs Not Cafes deliver some slick retro visuals to interrupt all the countless reels you’ll find on your feed but Isaac’s photos are always accompanied by evocative descriptions of the spot he’s shouting out, helping each of his posts double as a unique documentation of a specific place. Every post is a miniature time capsule and I mean it when I say that what Isaac is doing is vitally important work.

Claire Saffitz

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

I’ve never met Claire Saffitz before but I’m 80% sure that, if it came down to it, I’d be willing to die for her. Claire’s Instagram content is both aspirational and achievable, alternating between simple bakes and brownies to burnished croissants with more layers than a dungeon. The aesthetic of Claire’s account is second to none and while she doesn’t post all that often, you can be guaranteed that when she does, it’ll be an absolute banger. Her Dessert Person YouTube channel is also worth checking out.

Newmiyamoto

Too many Instagram food accounts have nothing interesting to say. Newmiyamoto (@newmiyamoto), on the contrary, has lots to say. A sort-of anonymous account run by someone whose identity is only privy to those ITK, Newmiyamoto is basically the Batman of the London food scene. They’re a ceaselessly curious vigilante who won’t rest until they’ve found every spot in the city that’s worth spending your hard-earned money at as well as every Soho pretender you should avoid like the plague. A breath of fresh air amidst the smoke and mirrors of most Instagram food accounts.

Xiengni Zhou

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Xien (@xiensscran) balances a busy life working in finance while being a killer content creator and, honestly, I'm not sure how she does it. Xien's recipes are the kind of stuff you want on the table as soon as you get home. Approachable, delicious, and incredibly hearty. She's got one of the best Instagram food accounts around... trumped perhaps only by her own mother, Jolene. Give them both a follow.

Eric Chou

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Eric Chou (aka @erictriesit) has got one of the best-looking food accounts on Instagram. I’m not joking. Go and take a look through his feed right now and try to find one photo that’s a dud. You won’t be able to. Because there aren’t any. Eric’s recipes always look gorgeous but the proof is also, quite literally, in the pudding and I’m happy to say that all of the recipes themselves work a treat. Why wouldn’t you want to follow someone that’ll brighten up your day?

Conor Curran

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Going by @creamy_confusion on Instagram, Conor Curran is a super talented recipe developer who specialises in feel-good Greek food and pasta. He came into our kitchen and made us a killer Saganaki recipe if you needed proof he's got some serious culinary chops. Conor's personality shines through in all of his videos and a quick scroll is guaranteed to make you more than a little bit peckish.

Saskia Sidey

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

As a recipe developer, writer, and food stylist, Saskia Sidey (@saskia.sidey) can pretty much do it all. She’s a Swiss army knife of a content creator and seems to be a master of every trade she plies her hand at. Her Instagram account is an essential follow, rammed with delicious recipes, helpful advice, and super easy-to-follow videos. Her TikTok is class, too.

Jordon Ezra King

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

No one does it like Jordon Ezra King (@jordonezraking). When he's not travelling around the world and filming informative recipe videos learning about different food cultures, he's writing thoughtful essays on what food means to me. Jordon has worked in a number of restaurant kitchens over the years and it shows in the seriousness with which he takes his craft. If you love nerding out on the history of different cuisines and the cross-pollination of flavours and ingredients, you need to give Jordon a follow.

Ravneet Gill

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Food is supposed to be fun and Ravneet Gill (aka @ravneeteats) totally understands that. Ravneet is a pastry chef who you should be aware of even if you don’t have a sweet tooth. The culinary creations she posts on Instagram are always extremely hunger-making and she’s always hopping on stories to provide extra helpings of knowledge. A brilliant personality and a brilliant baker.

SPOONS

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Rahel Stephanie is the wizard behind SPOONS (@eatwithsp00ns) – one of the best Instagram food accounts in town. You won’t regret following SPOONS, Mob. Not only will it mean you’ll be filling your phone’s screen with all of her gorgeous recipes on a regular basis but it also means you’ll be able to keep up-to-date with her ongoing series of supper clubs and find out how you can nab yourself a ticket to her next event. Those supper clubs are heaps of fun and a great way to sample some excellent regional Indonesian dishes.

Sophie Wyburd

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Sophie Wyburd (@sophiewyburd) is a Mob alumni and the undisputed queen of humble cooking. There's something about Sophie's recipes that are always undeniably... eatable – she's perfect at treading that fine line between relatable and aspirational. Her priority is on making recipes you'll cook more than just once, and she's a friendly face to add to your feed.

Nik Sharma

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

I was lucky enough to interview Nik Sharma a while back and confirm that he’s just as lovely as his Instagram feed would lead you to believe. Nik’s account (@abrowntable) has been going for a good number of years now and his content is just as fresh today as it was when he first started out. Whether it’s a recipe for halwa or a video of his adorable dog, Paddington, Nik always delivers the goods on the ‘gram.

Sam A Harris

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

I genuinely believe that to truly capture the essence of food, you have to love it. It’s obvious that Sam A Harris (@samaharris) is someone that loves food. His photographs don’t just bring dishes to life but give them a sense of character and personality, too. It’s no surprise then that Sam is the first person a lot of restaurateurs turn to when they want some snazzy press shots of their work taken. And it’s no surprise that Sam’s got one of the best Instagram food accounts.

Zena Kamgiang

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

There's not much I can say about Zena Kamgaing (@zenaskitchen) that hasn't been said already. She's created more internet-breaking recipes and videos than you've had hot dinners. Not only is she a talented cook but she's a warm and inviting person who you'll really want to be your friend. Vibrant food. Bold flavours. You know the drill.

Clare Cole

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

If beautifully arranged photographs of food are what you're after then Clare Cole (@clareccole) is someone you need to be following on Instagram. As a panshaker at Towpath Cafe who also happens to have an MA in the Anthropology of Food and a knack for food styling, Clare specialises in simple, seasonal cooking. The dishes she makes always look good enough to eat (because they are, duh) and it's pretty much impossible to scroll her feed without getting an intense craving for freshly made pasta.

Jonathan Nunn

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Food writer and founder of Vittles magazine, Jonathan Nunn (@jonathandnunn) is someone you can always turn to be the voice of reason when it comes to all things food and food culture. His latest book, London Feeds Itself, is a prime example of the boundary-pushing work he’s become known for, and his Instagram is an excellent account for discovering where you should actually be eating in London and – as of recently – Paris as well. Nunn influences the influencers.

What Willy Cook

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Have you ever wondered what would happen if you mixed together the abstract humour of Garth Marenghi’s Dark Place with the liminal, laddy sex appeal of The Naked Chef? No? Ah. Well, What Willy (@whatwillycook) has got an Instagram food account which is a bit like that, really, so maybe don’t give him a follow if that doesn’t sound like something that’s up your street. Or do, if it does. I literally don’t care.

Mam Sham

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Rhiannon Butler and Maria K Georgiou are presenters, hosts, and comedians extraordinaire. Known collectively as Mam Sham (@mam_sham_), Maria and Rhiannon are a dynamic duo who specialise in running and hosting events that are all about belly laughs and full bellies. Their Instagram is a great place to find some of their totes hilars skits and other happenings.

Molly Baz

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Molly Baz (@mollybaz) is the owner of one of the most successful Instagram food accounts on the planet. With almost 700k followers, she’s created a little social media empire of her own and it’s not difficult to see why people flock to Molly’s content. Not only does she post a great deal of engaging content – an ample mix of videos and immaculate photos – but she regularly provides updates on her day-to-day eats on her stories as well. A must-follow if you’re into food.

Rachel Ama

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

I’m not a vegan but if there’s one person on Instagram that’s made me tempted to go fully plant-based more than any other it’s Rachel Ama (@rachelama_). Rachel’s recipes bang each and every time. From vegan takes on fast food classics like drunken noodles and tacos to wholesome bowls of curried jackfruit and dairy-free apple tarts, Rachel really does it all. If you want proof that plant-based eating can be vibrant and exciting, check her out.

Only Scrans

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

While a lot of the accounts I’ve highlighted so far are focussed on recipe development and teaching you how to become a better cook, sometimes all you want from an Instagram food account is photos of straight-up deliciousness. Only Scrans (@onlyscrans) where you can feast your eyes on some brilliant (and some bizarre) dishes that’ll instantly have your stomach rumbling like thunder.

Jun & Tonic

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Jun & Tonic (@jun.and.tonic) runs a brilliant Instagram food account focussed on all-things to do with Asian cuisine. If you’ve ever wanted to know how to whip up traditional dishes like siu yuk, dorayakis, or kai jeow, this is who you need to be following. Jun’s aesthetic is en-pointe and scrolling through his feed is like leafing through a really glossy recipe magazine. Which, as someone who’s a big fan of recipe magazines, is pretty much the highest compliment I can give.

Ixta Belfrage

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

All killer no filler, Ixta Belfrage (@ixta.belfrage) uses Instagram to flex her culinary muscles and show off the best and brightest of her recipe creations. Whenever I’m feeling disenfranchised by social media I always treat myself to a quick gander at Ixta’s profile; she never gets bogged down in online trends or needless posturing, instead letting her handsome cooking do the talking. Most of the photos she posts are of her own cooking but if Ixta ever gives a shout out to a great restaurant she’s been to, I know that’s where I need to eat next. A brilliant content creator with a razor-sharp palate.

Harrison Webb

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Harrison Webb (@harrisonwebb97) is someone your grandmother would describe as a “nice young man”. When he’s not busy eating out in some of London’s spiciest new restaurant openings, you can find Harrison cooking up a storm in his kitchen at home. His recipe videos are snappily-edited, approachable, and remember one of the most important tenets of all: food is fun.

Whyte Rushen

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Brat. Scully St James. Kerridge's. Those are a few of the haunts where Whyte Rushen (@whyte_rushen) has plied his trade and, since going solo, the enigmatic chef has only gone from strength to strength. Inventive dishes like oysters and Monster Munch might be what he’s the most known for but even Whyte’s most simple, pared-back creations look like they’ve been laced with ambrosia (the nectar of the Gods, not the custard). Follow Whyte Rushen and get down to his next pop-up, stat.

Food, Fire, and Soul

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

It’s not often that I’m impressed by an Instagram handle but @foodfireandsoul just has a really nice ring to it. It’s lyrical, evocative, and instantly sums up what Yinka’s account is all about. If you’re in the market for some fuss-free recipes that don’t require to have a Le Cordon Blue diploma, I’d suggest checking Food, Fire and Soul out. You’ll be magicking a perfectly grilled hispi cabbage in no time.

Alex Delany

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Being cool isn’t easy, but it’s got to look it. Alex Delany (@alex_delany) is the owner of one of the most effortlessly cool accounts on Instagram. Not only is he always eating at the hottest spots in NYC but you can also rely on Delany for deep-cut music recommendations and fashion advice. He knows what he’s talking about.

Lap-fai Lee

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

As the owner of a delicious Instagram food account with an admirable mission of actually teaching you something about food culture, Lap-fai Lee (@oishinboy) is one of my favourite people on the internet. Lap-fai’s photos of food are picture-perfect, his captions are always loaded with useful information, and happily recommend him to anyone who’s even mildly into food. It’s not often that you’ll find a social media account producing content with substance but the stuff that Lap-fai is putting out into the world is all kinds of nourishing.

Big Has

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Hasan Semay (aka Big Has) is a man who knows his way around the grill. And the oven. And the wok. And just about every bit of kitchen kit, for that matter. While Big Has’s specialty lies in recipes designed to be grilled and barbecued, he’s also a Swiss army knife in the kitchen and more than capable of knocking up top dishes from a range of different cuisines. Big Has’s personality – he seems like the sort of fella you’d love to share a meal with – combined with his expertise is what makes him one of my personal favourite food accounts on the ‘gram. A hero.

Millie Lagares

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

A dynamite content creator who has great taste to match, Millie Lagares (@millielagares) runs an excellent Instagram food account that will have you drooling every time she posts. An ample mix of her own recipes along with some of the gorgeous dishes she’s eaten out and about, Millie’s feed will keep you fed.

Melissa Thompson

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Melissa Thompson (@fowlmouthsfood) is so much more than an Instagrammer. She’s a columnist for BBC Good Food, a recipe developer, and an award-winning food writer. Right. Now that I’ve suitably hyped up Melissa’s numerous other talents I can let you know that she’s also a really good person to follow on Instagram. If the idea of having your feed interrupted by plates of blushing bone-in ribeye and seeing stories of how to deep-fry a whole poussin piques your interest then you should really smash that follow button.

Nicola Lamb

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Good content is good content and Nicola Lamb (@nicolaalamb) is someone that has a knack for producing killer stuff for the ‘gram. Patisserie is where Nicola’s strengths lie and the glorious, laminated bakes she turns out always make me regret the fact that I’m crap at baking. As opposed to just letting her brilliant photos speak for themselves, Nicola also provides context to each and everyone of her bakes, providing an insight into the trial and error that often goes into baking in refreshing fashion. A must-follow for the viennoiserie heads out there.

Taste Cadets

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Three men deadset on eating and drinking their way around the world, the Taste Cadets (@tastecadets) are one of those groups of mates you really wish you had. Their stories show off some of the best bites around and the best part of all is that the Taste Cadets all look like they’re having a genuinely good time. Which is rare. You can obviously try DM-ing them and asking very politely if you can be the fourth member of the TC squad but, failing that, you can always just follow them on Instagram and engage with all their content instead.

Seema Pankhania

Sorry, you need to accept cookies from Instagram to view this content.

Seema (@seemagetsbaked) is a superstar. She doesn't just have an incredible working knowledge of what makes good online content but she never manages to make anything she does look anything but genuine. Her series are highly entertaining (and informative) and there's not many larger Instagram food accounts who still come across as so refreshingly honest. She's one of the best.
