This recipe was promising but there was a horrific amount of mayo for the coleslaw. We ended up having to put double the amount of cabbage and carrots in and it was still far too wet.

That is traditional Japanese mayo so goes with the recipe. It's an obvious swap to normal mayo if you prefer. I like how they use the traditional ingredients to make it more authentic but appreciate that it may be helpful to provide alternatives for less standard ingredients.
